This is the Golden Circle done properly, then extended. You get the three classic stops, Thingvellir (Icelandic: Þingvellir), Geyser (Icelandic: Geysir), and Golden Waterfall (Icelandic: Gullfoss), along with Faxi Waterfall and Kerid (Icelandic: Kerið). Everything is private: your vehicle, your driver-guide, and your pace, with no shared coach or fixed group schedule. The day finishes with a soak at Blue Lagoon.
Faxi Waterfall brings a quieter atmosphere to the day, a broad cascade surrounded by open Icelandic countryside, with a salmon ladder beside the falls reflecting the river's importance to Iceland's salmon. Kerid offers a completely different landscape: a striking volcanic crater with a lake at its center, its rim walkable and, conditions permitting, its floor reachable for a closer look at the crater walls. The day then continues to Blue Lagoon, where you can unwind in the warm geothermal water after exploring the countryside.
What the day covers.
Your driver-guide collects you from your Reykjavik accommodation, then takes you through the Golden Circle proper at a pace that leaves room to actually look around rather than clock-watch. From there the route continues to Faxi Waterfall and Kerid crater, added in because the day is built around your group only. The day finishes at Blue Lagoon before drop-off back at your Reykjavik accommodation, or straight to Keflavik Airport if that fits your flight.
