My main goal for my trip to Iceland was to see the northern lights, so I booked 2 tours with 2 small group companies- both of them VERY highly rated. We were canceled three days in a row and my first night out was with a different company. It was good, but we did not get the best view of the lights. The second night I went out was with Go To Joy and they were OUTSTANDING. Makrem was our guide and he went above and beyond to make sure we saw the lights AND had a great experience. He also helped with camera settings and took pictures of the group and anyone who asked. Support small business and choose this tour- I promise you will not be disapointed.

An Experience Into the Hills of Iceland The tour operator was friendly and courteous. We started out at about 10pm. He tried many different spots but was unsuccessful. However, it was still a good experience. We got blankets, pastry and hot chocolate. Tour operator offered to take us another time if we wanted to try again.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Our original night for the lights unfortunately did not go to plan as the weather forecast was not accurate so the evening was too cloudy despite guides effort to find clear sky. We were very disappointed, but you cannot help the weather and it is very changeable in Iceland. Go to Joy however called me to confirm that we could have another chance the next evening and we are extremely glad we did. Our guide really knew what he was doing and we ended up with a fabulous display of the northern lights on a cold but calm night. We got some stunning photos so we went home very happy. My advice is, do it and stick the evening out even if you have to be there for a few hours, trust in the guide. They know what they are doing!

Exceptional. Don’t look any further for a guide Very professional and skilled guide. Helped everyone on the trip setting their phones and camera’s to the optimum settings nothing was too much trouble. We ended up visiting numerous locations and got the impression he was happy to stay out as long as it took to get that all important picture. I know nothing’s guaranteed but if you going to spend a night freezing your bits off in search of the lights it’s nice to have a guide who’s quest it is to fulfill your dream. So glad he was recommended to us. And can understand why.

Great company, Maggie is a credit! 100% recommend! The second time I have used this company, Maggie (Magnus) was our driver/tour guide.
I had him run my tour 6 years ago. He is a credit to the company! Friendly, knowledgeable & goes out of his way to help you find and take pictures of the northern lights. He even dropped us off closer to our apartment as we were the last people on the bus, which was an absolute life saver at 2am!
Would 100% recommend this company and if you are lucky enough you will get Maggie and his 10 years of expertise! 🙂

Even though we didn’t get to see the lights, the guide was great. He communicated very well and was knowledgeable on the best places to see them.

We booked an additional Northern Lights tour through our hotel the Centrum as our first tour whilst very good hadt achieved the end result of seeing the Lights. Our guide Maggie was fantastic being very knowledgeable and clearly having a desire to make the experience memorable to us all. My wife has terminal cancer this was one of her bucket list things to do but she is limited in what she can and cannot do Maggie was superb in making her feel comfortable and part of the overall experience. He offered a photo service we didn't feel as if we had to have the photos even though we did. We highly recommend the tour through Go to joy Iceland. Thank you for making this a very special night.

I booked with Go to Joy Iceland for a northern lights trip and could not have had a better experience. Despite a mistake on my end Makrem searched the city until he found us to pick us up. The tour itself was perfectly executed and our guide did not rest until we had the ultimate experience. There are many tours for the northern lights in the area but I'm confident no one does it better then Go to Joy!

We went in January and it was a very bad weather that day. Some other companies cancelled the tour and we have people from other agencies join us. The tour was very organized. Puntual. The driver/tour guide Makram was very kind and informative. In the middle of the tour some other people driving a rental car had problems with the car and the snow blocking the road so we had to stop and our Guide was working in the cars outside in the brutal weather, trying to keep us Dave and moving. He was very experienced and made sure we were save and protected. It was a good day. Beautiful places and great food in the stops.

I did NOT see the Northern Lights. In fact, my tour was cancelled the first day, rebooked for the second day, then cancelled again. So why the five stars? The company was very responsive and alerted me in plenty of time. Booking ANY tour that depends on the weather is very risky, especially in Iceland. I will definitely use them on my next trip. Let’s hope the weather cooperates.

An awesome day tour of the Golden Circle, and then a magical night seeing the Aurora Borealis. Our tour guide was very good with explaining the tour stops and finding the perfect location to see the Aurora. An unforgettable experience!

What an amazing experience! Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the Northern Lights and where to find them. He explained how to set our cameras so we would have the best pictures. He went around to everyone individually to make sure their cameras were set properly. He took us to a lake but there were no lights there so we went to another area where we were the only tour and we found Northern Lights!!! I would definitely recommend this tour.
