Premium Private Golden Circle & Secret Lagoon Tour

This is a private Golden Circle day that moves from history to harvest to hot water, then finishes with Iceland's three great natural landmarks. The day opens at the place where Icelandic history began, shifts into food grown and made on Icelandic farms, slows down for a soak in warm geothermal water, and only then delivers Gullfoss, Geysir, and Kerid. Your vehicle, your driver-guide, and your own pace, with nothing shared and nothing scheduled around strangers.

A standard Golden Circle tour runs the same fixed loop, at the same time, with the same three stops, every day of the year. This route keeps the classics, but adds four stops the standard loop does not make, and the day around them is yours.

You'll leave when it suits your group, not when the coach fills. You'll stop where the schedule would normally skip. You'll reach the big sights after the buses have gone, when the light softens and the sites feel like they belong to you. The stop-by-stop sequence covers Thingvellir, a local dairy farm, Fridheimar tomato farm, Secret Lagoon, Golden Waterfall, Geysir, and Kerid Crater.

    What the day covers.

    Thingvellir National Park
Iceland's only UNESCO World Heritage site on the mainland, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates are pulling apart, and where Iceland's original parliament met starting in 930 AD.
    Local Dairy Farm (Efstidalur)
A working farm stop for ice cream made from the farm's own milk, simple and fresh, and a good early pause before lunch.
    Fridheimar Tomato Farm
Tomato soup and fresh bread inside a geothermal greenhouse, eaten among the vines that produced it.
    Secret Lagoon
A geothermal pool in Fluoir, among the oldest swimming places in Iceland, warm and unhurried.
    Golden Waterfall
A two tier cascade on the Hvita river, dropping into a deep canyon, and one of the most photographed places in Iceland.
    Geysir Geothermal Area
The field that gave the world the word geyser, where Strokkur erupts every few minutes.
    Kerid Crater
A volcanic crater formed roughly 6,500 years ago, with red volcanic walls surrounding a vivid blue green lake. Visitors can walk the crater rim and take in the volcanic landscape.

Your driver-guide collects you from your Reykjavik accommodation and sets off for Thingvellir, where you walk the rift between two continents before the coaches arrive. From there, a stop at the local dairy farm for ice cream made on site, then Fridheimar for tomato soup and fresh bread inside a geothermal greenhouse. Secret Lagoon follows, a midday soak in one of Iceland's oldest geothermal pools timed before the afternoon rush. The day then returns to the classics, Gullfoss and Geysir, before finishing at Kerid, the volcanic crater that closes the route. Drop-off is back at your Reykjavik accommodation, or directly to Keflavik Airport if that suits your flight. There is no fixed stop order dictated by a group timetable, so the shape of the day is yours to adjust as it unfolds.

Looking for a different route instead.

If you'd rather keep the day to the classic sights without a lagoon, we run a private Golden Circle tour covering Thingvellir, Geysir, and Golden Waterfall. If a lagoon is part of the plan but Secret Lagoon isn't the one, we also offer private tours with Sky Lagoon, Hvammsvik Lagoon, or Blue Lagoon, some of which include a tomato farm and dairy farm stop as well. For a different part of Iceland entirely, explore our Private South Coast Tour, our Private Snaefellsnes Tour, often called Iceland in Miniature, or our Private Reykjanes Peninsula Tour. Get in touch and we'll help you plan it.

This is the Golden Circle route done differently, with history, farms, and a soak at Secret Lagoon built into the day. Licensed and insured since 2016, with local expertise, careful planning, and transparent pricing that tells you exactly what's included before you book.

Frequently Asked Questions

The day generally runs around 10 to 11 hours, depending on pickup location, weather, and how long your group wants to stay at each stop. Since the tour is private, you set the pace, and there is no fixed clock to keep.

Yes. You will eat homemade tomato soup and fresh bread in the middle of a working greenhouse, with tomato vines growing around your table and the smell of ripe tomatoes and warm bread in the air. Bowls are refilled freely, with no limit and no extra charge.

Yes. The itinerary is a shape, not a fixed contract. If your group wants to linger somewhere or skip a stop, just let your driver-guide know on the day.

Icelandic weather can shift quickly, so timing and stop order may adjust on the day. In rare cases where a stop is not safe to visit, your driver-guide will suggest an alternative. Safety always comes first.

Standard pickup is from your Reykjavik accommodation or the Reykjavik cruise port. If you would like a Keflavik Airport pickup or drop off instead, mention it when booking and we will confirm whether it fits your day.

Bring a swimsuit and a towel. Both can also be rented at Secret Lagoon at your own expense if you prefer to travel light.

There is no minimum age at Secret Lagoon, and everyone is welcome, though each child must be accompanied by an adult. Please note this tour is not wheelchair accessible.

We send your confirmed pickup time and location by email, usually 6 to 24 hours before departure, so it is worth checking your email while you are in Iceland. Dress according to Icelandic weather, a rain jacket is recommended, and while hiking boots are not required, they can be useful.
