Our guide Maggi was very knowledgeable and explained so much that we did not know about the aurora borealis. He was engaging with everyone in the group and showing us the best ways to take photos. We saw the northern lights for a whole hour but still Maggi suggested that we wait more because there was a chance that more intense lights will appear later. We did some stargazing and had a nice time while we waited. Some people wanted to go home after seeing the lights the first time but we took a vote as our guide is democratic and ended up staying for 1-2 more hours. :) Unfortunately they did not appear for a second time but the first time was already an incredible experience! For everyone considering this tour, make sure you bring warm clothes (this was in March but the cold is no joke) and be prepared to stay outside for hours in search of the northern lights. That's just how the tour works, it is a hunt! All in all great experience and good value for money, I researched a lot before going and others were more expensive but offering the same thing (or maybe even less). I would recommend this tour! Tour was perfect from start to finish. We got picked up first at exactly 20.30 and we made it out in good time. We saw the northern lights before we’d even got off the bus. We spent a good few hours there hopping on and off the bus to get warm and then popping out to watch the show again! Our guide was brilliant and we had all our questions answered. We booked an additional Northern Lights tour through our hotel the Centrum as our first tour whilst very good hadt achieved the end result of seeing the Lights. Our guide Maggie was fantastic being very knowledgeable and clearly having a desire to make the experience memorable to us all. My wife has terminal cancer this was one of her bucket list things to do but she is limited in what she can and cannot do Maggie was superb in making her feel comfortable and part of the overall experience. He offered a photo service we didn't feel as if we had to have the photos even though we did. We highly recommend the tour through Go to joy Iceland. Thank you for making this a very special night.
