Thank you so much to Go To Joy Iceland for our Northern Lights tour on 6.2.19. Our tour was cancelled the night previous due to the bad weather but it was easy enough to rebook for the following night. Can you please pass on our regards to Pavel (sorry if that is the wrong spelling) he was our guide that night and we can’t thank him enough for his determination to make sure we saw the aurora. He drove for hours. We didn’t expect to be out so long. We stopped at three separate locations. The final stop was out of this world and something I shall never forget. Seeing the aurora is one of those experiences that will stay with you forever. Thank you also Pavel for taking such an amazing photo of us with the lights. We shall treasure it forever! Read Less

Makrem was an outstanding guide. We were lucky enough to travel with him on both the Northern Lights tour and the Golden Circle tour, both were incredible experiences. Makrem really went above and beyond to provide an excellent experience with both tours. The bus was very comfortable and provided free wifi as well. He was also very persistent and knowledgable with finding/viewing the Northern lights. I cannot say enough great things about Makrem and gotojoy, would absolutely 100% recommend booking tours with them! Read Less

Went out yesterday for the Golden Circle tour and it was fantastic. Makrem is an excellent guide who is not only knowledgeable and experienced but also really helpful with the small things that make the tour more enjoyable, such as supplying crampons so that you explore more in the places you visit without feeling like you are going to slip over. Something the bigger tours don't provide. Going out in a smaller group (there were just 10 of us in a high quality minibus) is also a much more personalized service. We enjoyed the Grand Circle tour so much we booked to straight back on to the Northern Lights tour for the same night and that was an even better experience. We highly recommend gotojoy Iceland, Makrem deserves every success in his venture, we intend to come back one summer to see a different looking Iceland and will hope to book with him again. We booked an additional Northern Lights tour through our hotel the Centrum as our first tour whilst very good hadt achieved the end result of seeing the Lights. Our guide Maggie was fantastic being very knowledgeable and clearly having a desire to make the experience memorable to us all. My wife has terminal cancer this was one of her bucket list things to do but she is limited in what she can and cannot do Maggie was superb in making her feel comfortable and part of the overall experience. He offered a photo service we didn't feel as if we had to have the photos even though we did. We highly recommend the tour through Go to joy Iceland. Thank you for making this a very special night. Thank you to Makrem for a wonderful Golden Circle Tour showing us the wild and contrasting natural beauty of Iceland. He also suggested we switch our Northern Lights Tour to tonight as the conditions were looking good. He and Paul took out their two small vans and worked and to find the best spot to see them, despite some snow, rain and cloud. Never any guarantees but bam, at our second spot, we had a wonderful clear view of them across the sky. The first group to see them in two weeks! They taught us how to use our cameras and took an amazing group photo. Can highly recommend you go with these guys who care about your experience and work hard to deliver! Thank you!!! Read Less

My main goal for my trip to Iceland was to see the northern lights, so I booked 2 tours with 2 small group companies- both of them VERY highly rated. We were canceled three days in a row and my first night out was with a different company. It was good, but we did not get the best view of the lights. The second night I went out was with Go To Joy and they were OUTSTANDING. Makrem was our guide and he went above and beyond to make sure we saw the lights AND had a great experience. He also helped with camera settings and took pictures of the group and anyone who asked. Support small business and choose this tour- I promise you will not be disapointed. Read Less

We had a great time with Magnus on our northern lights hunt on 5th March, he was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and managed our expectations well. We were very lucky and saw them after driving out of Reykyavik for almost an hour. After a while standing outside and taking photos, we went back to the minibus to warm up, after 15mins or so a very excited Magnus was telling us to all get off the bus as the sky was dancing for us in an even more dramatic way! Amazing display and we felt very lucky to be there and Magnus couldn't have been a better guide. Thank you. Read Less

Amazing! Really, really can't recommend this tour enough. Was lucky enough to join Makrem on both the Golden Circle and Northern Lights tours. The tours were incredible. We managed to see stunning sights and Makrem was so kind to show the group extra spots on the Golden Circle tour, and drive us to the most convenient and most beautiful places. On the NL tour, we were given the best hot chocolate which was perfect for the chilly weather. We were able to find the perfect spot to see the Northern Lights and Makrem was so kind to advise us on where and how to take the best photos. Amazing photos were taken by the tour and uploaded immediately. The bus was also very comfortable and clean and the small group size was perfect for the many stops we made. (The WiFi was also amazing). In comparison to another tour we'd booked, this was off the scale. The times allocated for the spots, and the comfort of the bus and the kindness of Makrem truly provided us with an exceptional experience. Beautiful tours with one of the most accommodating and kind people I've ever met. Would 1000% recommended - if you travel to Iceland booking with GotojoyIceland is a must!! Thank you Makrem! Note: They had a professional photographer with us who took MUCH better photos than we could’ve captured..... you can certainly tell the difference in the photos we took vs the ones Macrum took. When all the other Northern light tours were cancelled, ours wasn’t! We were the luckiest group in Iceland! We saw the lights on the first try These guys were great at chasing the lights! Would definitely recommend. Note: They had a professional photographer with us who took MUCH better photos than we could’ve captured..... you can certainly tell the difference in the photos we took vs the ones Macrum took. We booked an additional Northern Lights tour through our hotel the Centrum as our first tour whilst very good hadt achieved the end result of seeing the Lights. Our guide Maggie was fantastic being very knowledgeable and clearly having a desire to make the experience memorable to us all. My wife has terminal cancer this was one of her bucket list things to do but she is limited in what she can and cannot do Maggie was superb in making her feel comfortable and part of the overall experience. He offered a photo service we didn't feel as if we had to have the photos even though we did. We highly recommend the tour through Go to joy Iceland. Thank you for making this a very special night. Went out yesterday for the Golden Circle tour and it was fantastic. Makrem is an excellent guide who is not only knowledgeable and experienced but also really helpful with the small things that make the tour more enjoyable, such as supplying crampons so that you explore more in the places you visit without feeling like you are going to slip over. Something the bigger tours don't provide. Going out in a smaller group (there were just 10 of us in a high quality minibus) is also a much more personalized service. We enjoyed the Grand Circle tour so much we booked to straight back on to the Northern Lights tour for the same night and that was an even better experience. We highly recommend gotojoy Iceland, Makrem deserves every success in his venture, we intend to come back one summer to see a different looking Iceland and will hope to book with him again. Amazing! Really, really can't recommend this tour enough. Was lucky enough to join Makrem on both the Golden Circle and Northern Lights tours. The tours were incredible. We managed to see stunning sights and Makrem was so kind to show the group extra spots on the Golden Circle tour, and drive us to the most convenient and most beautiful places. On the NL tour, we were given the best hot chocolate which was perfect for the chilly weather. We were able to find the perfect spot to see the Northern Lights and Makrem was so kind to advise us on where and how to take the best photos. Amazing photos were taken by the tour and uploaded immediately. The bus was also very comfortable and clean and the small group size was perfect for the many stops we made. (The WiFi was also amazing). In comparison to another tour we'd booked, this was off the scale. The times allocated for the spots, and the comfort of the bus and the kindness of Makrem truly provided us with an exceptional experience. Beautiful tours with one of the most accommodating and kind people I've ever met. Would 1000% recommended - if you travel to Iceland booking with GotojoyIceland is a must!! Thank you Makrem!
